The Gift Of A CUB to Sligo University Hospital
Myself and Ann Nelson from West Coast Doulas had the pleasure of visiting the Labour Ward in Sligo University Hospital today to present the staff with a CUB (comfortable upright birthing stool) to be used in the labour ward.
This is a great tool during labour, giving you the option to be upright and supported. There are huge advantages to being upright during the labour for example, your chance of needing medical assistance eg. forceps is reduced by 23% and the chances of your baby becoming distressed is reduced by a whopping 54%.
